Policy Overview

Lux Crafter’s Sustainable Procurement Policy establishes a responsible and forward-looking framework that integrates environmental stewardship, ethical sourcing, and operational efficiency across all purchasing decisions. The policy supports alignment with global best practices and Lux Crafter’s internal sustainability standards.

Scope of Application

This policy applies to procurement activities related to:

  • Office and administrative supplies

  • Stationery, paper products, and consumables

  • Beverages and pantry items

  • Cleaning and maintenance materials

  • IT hardware and office equipment

  • Selection of transport, excursion, and accommodation partners

  • Contracted third-party services

Procurement Principles

Our procurement decisions are guided by the following principles:

  • Resource Efficiency: Preference for low-waste, recyclable, and reusable materials

  • Environmental Responsibility: Selection of products with credible sustainability certifications

  • Local Preference: Engagement of regional suppliers to reduce transport emissions

  • Ethical Sourcing: Compliance with labour laws, human rights, and fair employment practices

  • Quality & Cost Alignment: Sustainable alternatives adopted without compromising service quality

Sustainable Purchasing Practices

Office & Administrative Supplies

  • Use of recycled or FSC-certified paper wherever available

  • Reduction of single-use plastics and unnecessary materials

  • Default duplex (double-sided) printing to minimise paper consumption

Consumables & Pantry Items

  • Preference for Fairtrade, organic, locally sourced, or sustainability-certified beverages

  • Emphasis on responsible sourcing and reduced packaging

Cleaning & Maintenance Materials

  • Use of biodegradable, non-toxic, and eco-labelled products

  • Avoidance of harmful chemicals such as phosphates, chlorine, and ammonia-heavy cleaners

Supplier Selection & Partner Alignment

All suppliers are assessed against sustainability criteria covering:

  • Environmental credentials and responsible packaging

  • Ethical labour and employment practices

  • Operational reliability and waste-reduction measures

Suppliers that fail to meet minimum ethical or legal standards are excluded from engagement.

Low-Carbon Procurement in Travel Operations

In line with our sustainable transport commitments, we prioritise:

  • Public transport and shared transfers where feasible

  • BS-VI / Euro-6 compliant vehicles

  • Reduction of short-haul flights when viable alternatives exist

 

Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

Procurement performance is monitored through:

  • Periodic review of paper and material usage

  • Assessment of sustainable procurement ratios

  • Supplier performance reviews

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with evolving sustainability standards.
