1. Policy Statement
Lux Crafter Private Limited is committed to advancing responsible, ethical, and sustainable tourism. This Sustainable Accommodation Policy defines mandatory environmental, social, cultural, governance, and operational standards for all accommodation partners engaged in delivering guest services. Compliance with this policy is a prerequisite for onboarding, contracting, and continued commercial collaboration.
Our objective is to work exclusively with accommodation partners that demonstrate transparent governance, ethical labour practices, community responsibility, environmental stewardship, and alignment with internationally recognised sustainability frameworks.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all accommodation partners, including hotels, resorts, lodges, homestays, camps, villas, and serviced apartments. It covers all facilities, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and operational activities associated with guest services and their impact on communities, culture, biodiversity, and the environment.
3. Legal and Ethical Governance
Accommodation partners must:

Comply with all applicable local, regional, and national regulations

Operate with integrity, transparency, and accountability in all business practices

Maintain zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, fraud, or conflicts of interest

Hold valid licenses, permits, insurance, and certifications and provide them upon request
4. Labour Rights and Human Rights
Partners shall ensure:

Safe, fair, and respectful working conditions

Prohibition of forced labour, human trafficking, and child labour

Fair wages, legal employment contracts, regulated working hours, and freedom of association

A workplace free from discrimination, harassment, or abuse
5. Environmental Management Standards
Waste Management:

Waste segregation at minimum into organic and recyclable streams

Reduction, reuse, and recycling practices

Elimination of single-use plastics and provision of refillable water solutions
Water and Energy Efficiency:

Installation of water-saving fixtures and monitoring systems

Use of energy-efficient lighting and appliances

Adoption of energy-control systems where feasible and staff/guest awareness initiatives
6. Community, Culture, and Child Protection

Zero tolerance toward child exploitation, supported by staff awareness and training

Operations must not restrict community access to essential resources or livelihoods

Respect for local culture, heritage, and traditions

Prohibition of the sale of illegal or protected cultural artefacts
7. Biodiversity, Animal Welfare, and Food Responsibility
Accommodation partners must:

Avoid serving or promoting endangered or protected species

Ensure animal-related activities meet international welfare standards

Prioritise locally sourced, seasonal, and ethically produced food
8. Health, Safety, and Risk Management
Partners are required to:

Comply with fire, building, and emergency regulations

Maintain 24/7 guest safety and security protocols

Ensure safe drinking water, hygienic food preparation, and high housekeeping standards

Proactively maintain infrastructure and facilities
9. Responsible Guest Communication
Accommodation providers must offer guests clear guidance on safety, culture, sustainability practices, and responsible environmental and community behaviour.
10. Continuous Sustainability Improvement
Lux Crafter actively supports accommodation partners in strengthening sustainability performance through dialogue, sharing best practices, guidance on certifications (e.g., Travelife), self-evaluation tools, and training resources.
11. Monitoring, Compliance, and Enforcement
Partners agree to provide documentation upon request and report serious incidents immediately. Non-compliance may result in corrective actions, suspension, or termination of partnership, depending on severity. Lux Crafter reserves the right to terminate relationships where ethical, legal, or reputational risks arise.
