1. Policy Overview

Lux Crafter integrates sustainability as a core business imperative across all operations, partnerships, and destination management activities. As a luxury Destination Management Company (DMC), we recognise our influence across the tourism value chain—including travellers, guides, transport operators, accommodations, attractions, and local communities—and actively leverage this responsibility to promote ethical, inclusive, and environmentally responsible tourism.

Our sustainability approach seeks to maximise socio-economic benefits, safeguard cultural integrity, and minimise environmental impact while delivering refined travel experiences. This policy aligns with GSTC principles, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and all applicable national and international regulations.

2. Governance & Accountability

Sustainability is governed through structured oversight, internal accountability, and continuous improvement mechanisms.

A designated Sustainability Coordinator oversees policy implementation, compliance, performance monitoring, and partner engagement. Sustainability is a standing agenda item in internal meetings, embedded into supplier communication, and publicly communicated through our website.

We maintain a structured Sustainability Action Plan with defined targets, responsibilities, timelines, and review cycles. Progress is monitored through monthly internal reviews and periodic engagement with guides and field partners. Corrective actions are implemented where deviations occur, ensuring adaptability and future readiness.

3. Sustainable Office Operations

Lux Crafter adopts responsible practices across energy, water, waste, procurement, and workplace safety within all controlled operations.

Key commitments include:

  • Energy efficiency through LED lighting, strict switch-off protocols, and planned rooftop solar installation.

  • Water conservation via rainwater harvesting, refillable drinking systems, and regular leakage inspections.

  • Responsible waste management with source segregation, reduced plastic usage, and government-supported disposal.

  • FSC/ISO-certified paper use, digital-first communication, and minimal battery consumption.

  • Safe, healthy work environments with first aid readiness, fire safety equipment, and staff awareness programmes.

  • Preference for public transport, low-emission vehicles, and consolidated travel logistics.

  • Ethical food sourcing, reusable serving systems, and plastic-free catering operations.

  • Environmentally safe cleaning practices and responsible chemical handling.

  • Carbon sequestration through agroforestry initiatives offsetting operational emissions.

4. Transport, Accommodation & Excursions

Transport and accommodation partners are selected using sustainability criteria covering emissions compliance, energy and water efficiency, waste management, cultural sensitivity, safety, and community contribution.

We prioritise:

  • Low-emission transport options and shared transfers.

  • Sustainability-evaluated accommodations, with preference for locally owned properties.

  • Responsible excursions that protect biodiversity, reject wildlife exploitation, and support local livelihoods.

  • Certified and trained guides for sensitive destinations.

5. Destination Stewardship & Community Engagement

Lux Crafter integrates sustainability considerations into destination selection, avoids over-tourism where impacts outweigh benefits, and actively supports community-based tourism initiatives. Illegal souvenirs, endangered species, and cultural exploitation are strictly prohibited.

6. Traveller Responsibility & Protection

We ensure transparent communication before, during, and after travel, including sustainability guidelines, cultural protocols, legal compliance, safety information, and responsible behaviour expectations. Post-travel feedback informs continuous improvement.

Conclusion

This Sustainability Policy embeds responsibility, transparency, and long-term value creation into Lux Crafter’s operations. It is supported by detailed action plans, supplier codes of conduct, and periodic reviews to ensure measurable impact and continuous advancement.
